Enter The Rabbit Hole - 2014

Down The Rabbit Hole
(Allison / Gowdy)

I've learned how imagination is the start
Doesn't something come from nothing everyday
This gentle tapping on my table,
Staring out the open door
How can this be less important
Than any book upon my back anymore

It's not from boredom that I look away
Or obligation, that I choose to stay
My flight to Wonderland
Is measured less in time than you might think
When time and size are distorted daily
With just one harmless drink

In my world, "nothing is" is as it seems
In my world, a child's tome is a living dream
In this world..
The roses must be painted for the Queen
At least that's what I've been told
After I stumbled and fell
Down the Rabbit Hole

The colors here run together in a stream
The common sounds of laughter echo
And grow apart
This reasoned ticking in my mind,
I'm walking through a looking glass
How can this be less than real
But more than these rings of smoke, I asked

It's not from sanity that I looked away
Or obligation here, that makes me stay
My time in Wonderland
Is measured less by space that we can fill
For time and space are distorted daily
With just one harmless pill

In my world, "nothing is" is as it seems
In my world, a child's tome is a living dream
In this world...
The roses must be painted for the Queen
At least that's what I've been told
After I stumbled and fell
Down the Rabbit Hole

We can't keep the Duchess waiting
After all, she has only one head
To offer the Royal Court
Besides, the White Rabbit only knows too well
The only way back is through a certain door
That's not the right size for me, anymore...

In my world, "nothing is" is as it seems
In my world, a child's tome is a living dream
In this world...
The roses must be painted for the Queen
At least that's what I've been told
After I stumbled and fell
Down the Rabbit Hole
